Entre Copas | Between Glasses brings together paintings by Marjorie Dow that celebrate the rituals and pleasures of food, travel, and gathering. Marjorie Dow is a Bakersfield-based painter whose vibrant acrylic works celebrate the beauty of everyday life, from intimate domestic scenes and still lifes to moments inspired by food, travel, and gathering. A third-generation Bakersfield resident, Dow comes from a creative family that includes her grandmother, Eve Moore, who worked as a portrait artist in Bakersfield during the 1950s.

Largely self-taught, Dow has maintained a daily painting practice for the past seven years, developing her approach through independent exploration and continued study. Her artistic practice has evolved alongside a nearly four-decade career as a hairstylist, a profession rooted in creativity, personal connection, and an appreciation for beauty. As she gradually shifts her focus toward painting, Dow embraces the opportunities for discovery and expression that art provides.

Through social media and an expanding network of collectors and fellow artists, Dow's paintings have found homes throughout Bakersfield and beyond. Her work reflects an ongoing curiosity about the world around her and a growing commitment to painting as both a daily discipline and a deeply personal form of expression.
